Chapter 486 The Dutiful Son
Chapter 486 The Dutiful Son
The deaf old lady was so angry that she was shaking all over. She pointed at Chu Tian and couldn't speak for a long time.
At this time, an old lady came over and advised: "Chu Tian, just give the old lady another bowl, she is old..."
Before Chu Tian could say anything, he heard a clear voice: "Auntie, please stop trying to persuade me. Some people just don't want to drink when I'm toasted!"
Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw a tall, pretty woman walking towards them. It was the new resident in the courtyard - Qin Huairu.
The appearance of Qin Huairu made the already tense atmosphere even more tense. She walked to Chu Tian, took his arm affectionately, and gave the deaf old lady a provocative look.
"Hey, old lady, what are you doing? Are you arguing with our Chu Tian? He is a filial son, please don't make him angry." Qin Huairu said in a sarcastic tone.
The deaf old lady was so angry that her face turned green. She pointed at Qin Huairu and cursed, "You vixen! Stop trying to sow discord here! I'm not done with you!"
Qin Huairu fought back without showing any weakness: "Old lady, you must speak with conscience! When did I try to sow discord? I was just telling the truth. If you really want to do good for Chu Tian, don't always think about taking advantage of him!"
"You..." The deaf old lady was so angry that she couldn't speak. The finger she pointed at Qin Huairu kept shaking.
Chu Tian looked at the scene in front of him and felt annoyed. He didn't want to bother with the deaf old lady in the first place, and now Qin Huairu came to make trouble again, which gave him even more headaches.
"Okay, stop arguing!" Chu Tian interrupted them impatiently, "Old lady, if you have nothing to do, go back first. I still have things to do."
The deaf old lady glared at Chu Tian and Qin Huairu fiercely, then turned and left. As she left, she was still cursing, her voice was not loud, but loud enough for people around to hear.
Seeing this, the first lady sighed and turned back home. The second and third uncles looked like they were watching a good show. They had long disliked the deaf old lady, and now seeing her being humiliated, they were very happy.
Yan Bugui stood behind the window, watching everything that happened in the yard, secretly glad that he didn't go out. He had wanted to go to Chu Tian for a meal, but now it seemed that he had better forget it.
"Chu Tian, why are you so mean to the old lady? She is so old, can't you be more considerate to her?" Qin Huairu looked at Chu Tian with a hint of blame in her tone.
Chu Tian said unhappily, "I have been polite enough to her, but she is the one who is pushing it too far! Why should I indulge her?"
Qin Huairu sighed and said, "I know you feel uncomfortable, but the old lady is an old lady in the hospital after all. It won't hurt you if you treat her well."
Chu Tian sneered: "Be nice to her? When has she ever been nice to me? She only relies on her age to take advantage of others!"
Qin Huairu knew that Chu Tian was telling the truth, but she still wanted to persuade him: "Chu Tian, I know you are suffering, but you can't always be like this. If you are good to others, others will be good to you."
Chu Tian looked at Qin Huairu and felt a little touched. He knew that Qin Huairu was really doing this for his own good, but he really didn't want to have anything to do with the deaf old lady anymore.
"Huai Ru, thank you. I know you are doing this for my own good, but I really don't want to have anything to do with her anymore." Chu Tian's tone softened down some.
Qin Huairu nodded, she understood Chu Tian’s feelings.
"Okay, then, you can do whatever you want." Qin Huairu said, then turned and went into the house.
Chu Tian looked at Qin Huairu's back, feeling mixed emotions. He didn't know whether what he did was right or wrong, but he really didn't want to be entangled by the deaf old lady anymore.
He returned to the kitchen, poured the remaining chicken soup into a bowl, and drank it all in one gulp.
After drinking the chicken soup, Chu Tian felt much better. He washed the dishes, then returned to the house and lay on the bed to rest.
He closed his eyes, and the image of Qin Huairu emerged in his mind. Qin Huairu was gentle, considerate, and understanding, and was a ray of sunshine in his life.
Chu Tian secretly swore in his heart that he must treat Qin Huairu well and give her a happy future.
Just then, a knock on the door interrupted Chu Tian's thoughts.
"Who is it?" Chu Tian asked impatiently.
"It's me, Jia Zhang." A sharp voice came from outside the door.
When Chu Tian heard that it was Jia Zhang, his heart skipped a beat. He knew that Jia Zhang was a difficult person, and he didn't want to have anything to do with her.
"What's the matter?" Chu Tian asked unhappily.
"I came to see you and ask you, do you still have the chicken soup you made? It smells so delicious." Jia Zhang said with a smile.
When Chu Tian heard this, he immediately understood Jia Zhang's intention. She was clearly here to eat for free!
"Sorry, I've finished the chicken soup." Chu Tian said coldly.
"Have you finished drinking it? That's a pity. I originally wanted to try your cooking." There was a hint of regret in Jia Zhang's tone.
"Next time." Chu Tian said perfunctorily.
"Next time? That's hard to say. What if the food you cook doesn't taste good next time?" Jia Zhang said with a smile.
Chu Tian suppressed his anger and said, "What's the matter with you? If you have nothing to do, please leave quickly. I still need to rest."
When Jia Zhang saw that Chu Tian refused to give her chicken soup, her face suddenly changed.
"How can you be so ignorant, boy! I am an old widower and you are reluctant to give me even a bowl of chicken soup! Do you have any conscience?" Jia Zhang pointed at Chu Tian and cursed.
Chu Tian also got angry. He sneered, "Jia Zhang, don't take advantage of your age! Why should I give you chicken soup? I don't owe you anything!"
"You..." Jia Zhang was so angry that she was shaking all over. She pointed at Chu Tian and couldn't speak for a long time.
Just then, Qin Huairu walked out of the house.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Qin Huairu looked at Jia Zhang and Chu Tian and asked in confusion.
When Jia Zhang saw Qin Huairu, she felt like she had found a savior. She grabbed Qin Huairu's hand and cried, "Huairu, you have to help me! This kid bullied me! He didn't even want to give me a bowl of chicken soup!"
Qin Huairu looked at Jia Zhang, then at Chu Tian, and for a moment she didn't know what to say.
Qin Huairu was in a dilemma. She sighed and said, "Mom, please don't make things difficult for Chu Tian. He just came back and must be tired. I'll make chicken soup for you next time."
When Jia Zhang heard this, she was immediately unhappy. "Huai Ru, what are you talking about? How tired can he be as a young man? I am an old widower and I can't even have a bowl of chicken soup. Is this fair?"
Chu Tian sneered: "Jia Zhang, stop pretending. Everyone knows that you are lazy and eat nothing at home, and you just want to take advantage of others all day long. Why should I serve you?"
"You...you little bastard, how dare you talk to me like that!" Jia Zhang was so angry that she was shaking all over and pointed at Chu Tian and cursed.
