Chapter 354: Ensuring Her Safety
Chapter 354: Ensuring Her Safety
"I'm fine, how about you?" Su Ming asked softly, feeling warm in his heart.
"I'm fine too, but we have to leave quickly!" A Ling's voice was firm. She knew that the chance of escape was rare.
Su Ming nodded and quickly pulled A Ling forward. They ran along the forest path, trying to find a safe place. Behind them, the sound of gunfire continued, and the tense atmosphere enveloped them like a haze.
"There is a small path ahead and we can leave from there." A Ling suddenly pointed forward with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
"Let's go!" Su Ming said without hesitation, a glimmer of hope igniting in his heart. As long as they could escape this area, they still had a chance.
They crossed the path, gradually moving away from the range of the gunfire. As the distance increased, Su Ming's mood gradually relaxed, but the tension in his heart remained. He knew that this road was not safe and could face new dangers at any time.
"Where should we go?" A Ling panted, a trace of worry on her face.
"Find a secluded place and wait for an opportunity to contact the Military Control Commission." Su Ming looked back to make sure there were no pursuers following him, and secretly planned his next move in his mind.
"I have a place where I can hide temporarily." A Ling said suddenly, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
"Where?" Su Ming was stunned and thought to himself.
"There's an abandoned warehouse near my home. There's no one there, so I might be able to hide there for a while." A Ling explained quickly.
"Okay, let's go." Su Ming nodded. Although he was not very reassured about the safety of the warehouse, he knew that he had to rely on A Ling's judgment now.
Along the way, the two nervously and quickly crossed the path, trying to avoid possible dangers. Finally, they came to a dilapidated warehouse with a dilapidated appearance and weeds growing around it. It seemed that no one had been there for a long time.
"This is it." A Ling said softly, opened the door and motioned Su Ming to go in first.
Su Ming walked into the warehouse, which was dark and damp, with a lingering smell of decay. He looked around the room, and only felt relieved after confirming that there was no danger.
"Let's stay here for a while." A Ling said, closed the door, and the surroundings returned to silence.
"What should we do?" Su Ming asked, and began to think about his future plans.
"I think we need to find Li Wei's whereabouts as soon as possible. Maybe we can find his connection with the 'Black Bat'." A Ling said, with determination flashing on her face.
"But we must ensure our own safety first," Su Ming replied in a low voice, secretly pondering his next move. He knew that finding evidence was important, but first he had to ensure they were no longer being hunted.
"We can act separately. I will go find information, and you stay here to monitor the situation." There was a firm light in A Ling's eyes, and it was obvious that she had made up her mind.
"It's too risky!" Su Ming looked at her in surprise, feeling nervous. "I'm worried about you going alone."
"I'll be careful." A Ling said firmly, with courage flashing in her eyes, "This is an opportunity, we can't miss it."
Su Ming hesitated, struggling internally. He knew Ah Ling's courage, but he also understood that such an action would be extremely dangerous. "Okay, but no matter what happens, you must return immediately."
"I will." A smile appeared on A Ling's face, as if telling Su Ming that she was capable of handling the next challenge.
"Then let's get ready and rest for a while." Su Ming finally nodded. Although he was still nervous, he also knew that he had to calm himself down.
The two sat in a corner of the warehouse, each silently pondering their next plan. Su Ming would occasionally glance at Ah Ling, noticing a persistence and determination in her expression, which he secretly admired.
"You can definitely do it." Su Ming whispered, trying to give her some support.
Ah Ling smiled slightly, her eyes showing gratitude. Time passed quietly in their silence. The outside world was still noisy, but their hearts always maintained a sense of tranquility.
Finally, A Ling stood up and prepared to start her action. "I have to go, you wait here for me."
"Remember to keep in touch!" Su Ming stressed, his heart still lingering with unease. He knew the next moment would be filled with unknown dangers.
Ah Ling nodded, gave him a determined look, and turned to walk out. Su Ming watched her back, praying silently in his heart that she could complete the task successfully.
Silence returned to the warehouse. Su Ming sat down in a dim corner, pondering his next plan. He knew that everything was gradually changing, and the road ahead was full of thorns, but as long as they held onto hope, they would surely find a way out.
Su Ming waited quietly in a dark corner of the warehouse, secretly calculating Ah Ling's actions. He knew time was running out. Despite the uneasy atmosphere outside, he had to remain calm and wait patiently. Every second felt like a century, and his nerves grew with each passing second.
"I hope she comes back safely," he whispered to himself, concern in his eyes. He deeply admired Ah Ling's courage and decisiveness, but as a protector, Su Ming always had a hint of worry in his heart.
Faint sounds could be heard from outside, as if someone was whispering. Su Ming immediately held his breath and listened carefully. He gripped the flashlight tightly, ready to use it if necessary.
"Have you heard? The officer over there has been transferred." A low voice came into my ears.
"Yes, Li Wei's case is now more difficult to deal with. He may be released." Another voice sounded a little anxious.
"We must seize this opportunity and not let him escape." The first voice said firmly.
Su Ming's heart tightened, realizing that this might be the soldier Li Wei was interrogating. If they really intended to release Li Wei, it would be a major blow to their plan.
"I have to go find Ah Ling!" Su Ming thought to himself, deciding not to wait any longer. He slowly stood up, made sure there were no signs of discovery in the warehouse, and quickly approached the door.
He cautiously pushed the door open and peered out, finding the surroundings serene. Light filtered through the leaves, making the surroundings seem exceptionally quiet. He took a deep breath and decided to follow the path towards Aling.
After leaving the warehouse, Su Ming tried to keep a low profile and avoid any possible danger. He was always thinking about Ah Ling, and his mind kept replaying her expression before she left, feeling both strong and a little uneasy.
"I must find her and ensure her safety." Su Ming muttered to himself, his pace getting faster and faster.
