Chapter 634: Family Arrives Unexpectedly

On October 16th, quite suddenly, Akane's studio announced a new game and released a promotional PV.

It was the very game Utaha had worked on as a scriptwriter in collaboration with them.

Dual Fate, an RPG featuring dual protagonists, male and female. The story would switch between their perspectives to drive the narrative forward, combined with flashy combat elements. Judging from the PV alone, it looked quite promising.

As for how it would actually play, that remained to be seen.

After watching the PV, Ichin turned to Utaha beside him.

"Have you seen the actual gameplay? What do you think?"

"It's really good!"

Since it was a game she had written for, Utaha had been paying close attention to it. After learning about its development progress from Akane, she had personally tried it out and was very satisfied with the current state of the game.

"Whether it's the character illustrations for both protagonists, the visuals, or the gameplay, everything blends very well with my script. The only thing is that Akane is a bit too ambitious. After I finished the initial draft of the story outline, she discussed it with me and expanded the content further. At this rate, the main storyline alone will probably take at least thirty-five hours to complete. That's quite long."

"For an RPG, a long main storyline is a good thing. Of course, that's only if the script quality is strong enough, otherwise it'll just feel dragged out," Ichin said with anticipation. "Looks like this is something worth looking forward to."

They certainly had the capability to develop games, and now that they had adjusted their development strategy, they should be able to consistently produce high-quality titles moving forward.

Of course, they still couldn't compete with Ichin's company in the short term. At the very least, they would need to release a game that sold over ten million copies.

Now that the game had been announced, Utaha no longer had many concerns and began talking more openly about Akane's situation.

Just as they were chatting, there was a knock on the office door.

"Come in."

The door opened, revealing someone who completely surprised both Ichin and Utaha.

"Mom?"

Ichin never expected that the person standing at the door would be his mother. Behind her stood his father, smiling at him.

And not just them. His uncle's family was there as well, along with his cousin and her husband, who had even brought their child along.

"Uncle? Why is everyone here?"

Fortunately, Ichin's office was spacious enough that even with so many people, it didn't feel crowded.

After having everyone sit down, Ichin asked Utaha to go get some drinks. As she stood up, his cousin followed her out, leaving the child in her husband's care.

Once everyone settled, his uncle smiled and explained, "I just retired recently and had nothing much to do, so I thought about going somewhere for a trip. While having dinner at your place, we brought it up, and your mom suggested coming here together. Your cousin and her husband agreed too, so they took annual leave."

"It hasn't even been long since the National Day holiday, and you're already taking more leave? You two are really enjoying October," Ichin said with a grin.

His cousin's husband, holding the child, laughed. "Unused annual leave is a waste anyway. This was the perfect chance to travel. Ichin, your company here is really impressive. It's developed so well."

Only Ichin's parents had visited before. The rest of the relatives had only seen photos. Now that they were seeing it in person, they truly understood how well everything had grown.

Ichin said proudly, "Not bad, right? I spent quite a lot to secure this place. If the company hadn't been doing well, I wouldn't have had the confidence to get my own office building this early."

After chatting for a while and asking about their travel plans, Utaha and his cousin returned with drinks and snacks.

Only then did Ichin remember something. "By the way, where did you put your luggage? Have you booked a place to stay? If not, you can just stay at my place. There are plenty of rooms."

His mother smiled. "We ran into Aoba earlier when we came up. She helped us store the luggage with her team. We can pick it up later. As for accommodation, I was thinking of staying at your place. Is that okay?"

"No problem."

Ichin shook his head and took out his phone. "Yukino didn't come to the company after class today and went straight home. I'll message her to take out the bedding for the guest rooms and let it air in the sun. It's only 10:30 in the morning, so half a day should be enough."

As he spoke, he called Yukino and explained the situation.

Yukino, who was at home reading while playing with the cat, immediately agreed and went to prepare the rooms.

After the call, Ichin also booked a restaurant for lunch. After eating, they would head home in the afternoon to settle everyone in.

A little later, Rin, Hazuki, and a few others who were familiar with Ichin's family came over to greet them.

Standing beside Ichin, his cousin's husband watched Aoba and Nene play with the child and said with a smile, "There really are a lot of girls in your company. Doesn't Utaha mind?"

"What's there to mind? She comes here almost every day anyway, and everyone's known each other for a long time. It's not as complicated as you think," Ichin replied with a smile.

Then he walked over and took the bag of gummy candy from Nene's hand.

"Alright, that's enough. He's already had quite a bit just now. No more candy, we're about to have lunch."

"Aww, fine."

"Waaah, candy! Candy!"

Seeing the candy slip away just as he was about to get it, the little one immediately started protesting.

But unfortunately, while the adults might give in on other things, candy was not one of them. No one in the family would compromise on that. The child was quickly picked up by his mother and gently lectured.

Aoba stood up and looked at Ichin. "Ichin, since your family is here, will you still come to the company this afternoon?"

"Of course I will."

Ichin nodded. "Utaha and Yukino are at home. Whether I'm there or not doesn't make a difference. If you don't believe me, ask my mom."

Hearing that, Ichin's mother smiled. "Yes, just focus on your work. Utaha and Yukino being with us is more than enough."

Ichin spread his hands, wearing an expression that said exactly as expected.
