Parental Love: Jiang Weimin's Life of Lying Down

Chapter 131 Monkey King

Chapter 131 Monkey King

Then, Jiang Defu walked closer, looked at the three people in front of him curiously, and suddenly showed a look of surprise.

"Huh? Why are there only three of you? Why didn't Wei Min come back with you?"

"Oh, he has graduated and started working now, so he can't stay at home all day like before."

"Wei Min's main responsibility in the publishing house is to create works. He can still write even if he stays at home. Besides, living in my uncle's house is not as comfortable as living at home!"

After hearing this, Jiang Anjie nodded thoughtfully, expressing his agreement: "Well, what you said does make sense. It seems that Wei Min's current job is indeed quite free and flexible. It's really enviable!"

"Dad, my third brother went to Shanghai again. He has a new idea that he wants to draw for foreigners to see, and he wants his master to help guide him.

My third brother said that they were preparing for the next Canton Fair. But he said that they would definitely be back before the Mid-Autumn Festival.

"I see! It seems that young people should really put work first. In that case, let's not delay any longer and go home quickly!"

So the family set out on the journey home. Along the way, the two lively and lovely sisters kept chirping like two happy little birds, happily describing to their father all the interesting things they had experienced in Qingdao during the past few days.

The laughter and joy were like a warm spring breeze, blowing through everyone's heart, making the entire journey home full of joy and warmth.

The next afternoon, Jiang Weimin boarded another cruise ship bound for Shanghai, again choosing a second-class cabin.

But unlike the previous time, he did not let Zhang Jianhua accompany him.

In addition to the carefully prepared gifts for the master's family, which were specially purchased from the Friendship Store, he only brought a few sets of clothes and went on the expedition with ease.

After all, I had been to Shanghai before, so I was familiar with the situation this time.

When the cruise ship docked, the familiar figure still came to greet him.

As soon as they met, Gu Ziyi came up to him with a big smile on his face: "Junior brother, since our old man learned that you were coming, he has been waiting for your arrival at home all day long."

Jiang Weimin felt a warm current in his heart when he heard this, and responded: "Brother, I have actually been thinking about you all a lot over the past few months."

Then, Gu Ziyi patted Jiang Weimin on the shoulder and said with great emotion: "Junior brother! What you have done in the past few months really shocked me!

In just these two months, many people have come to visit me, all to find out about you."

"Brother, I am also following Master's steps to promote the flourishing development of the comic book industry."

"Since you are here this time, the guys from Shanghai Publishing House will definitely change their strategy and try their best to win you over. Their people have already visited our house many times.

I also kept begging my father to persuade you to go to Shanghai Publishing House to seek development."

"Hehe, that would probably disappoint them greatly. After all, Qingdao Publishing House has treated me well."

"Well, it's ultimately up to you to decide.

By the way, Junior Brother, my father said that you came here to draw a comic strip specifically for foreigners."

"That's right! I intend to re-illustrate the story of Havoc in Heaven and create a comic book that can be continuously published."

"Junior brother, I vaguely remember that a comic book edition of 'Havoc in Heaven' has been published before?"

“Yes, the first edition of ‘Havoc in Heaven’ published by Shanghai People’s Fine Arts Publishing House in February 1956, with paintings by the good scholar Chen Guangyi, was priced at 2 cents and cents.

There is also a version of "The Trouble in Heaven" by Liu Jiyou, which consists of eight paintings. Its lines are elegant and smooth, and its characters are graceful and charming. It can be called an epic in the meticulous comic strip."

"Junior brother, is there any difference between the version you want to draw and the previous one?"

"Mr. Chen's comic book focuses on creating a noisy atmosphere, but the 'Havoc in Heaven' I depicted focuses on the fierce battles. I use a variety of exciting fighting techniques and combine them with my own unique painting style to present them."

"I see!"

Looking at Gu Ziyi's confused and half-understanding eyes, he continued, "Please be patient. I will show you the draft when we get home."

Foreign cultures have always respected individual heroism. On the contrary, among the many existing literary works in my country,

Mythological characters that can present grand scenes and at the same time demonstrate personal heroism are extremely rare.

If you count them, there are probably only a few such as Sun Wukong, Nezha, Yang Jian, etc.

Among them, the only one with a large number of thrilling fighting scenes is Sun Wukong.

The most exciting battles described in Journey to the West, from the time when Sun Wukong learns martial arts to the time when he makes trouble in Heaven, can be regarded as the originator of the Dragon Aotian cool novel.

The first time: Li Jing, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King, was in charge, and Nezha was his deputy. They led their troops to the lower world. There were two battles, one in which Sun Wukong defeated the giant spirit in a few rounds, and the other in which he fought with Nezha for thirty rounds and then defeated him with his magical clone (both sides used their three heads and six arms).

Afterwards, Heaven offered amnesty again, and Heaven’s first siege of the Flower-Fruit Mountain ended in such a hasty manner.

The second time: It is the battle with the largest number of participants in the entire Journey to the West. It was commanded by Li Jing, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King, who led the Four Heavenly Kings, Nezha, the Third Prince, the Twenty-Eight Mansions, the Nine Stars, the Twelve Yuanchen, the Five Directions Jie Di, the Four Valued Officials, the East and West Stars, the North and South Gods, the Five Mountains and Four Rivers, and the stars of the sky, a total of 100,000 heavenly soldiers, and 18 nets, which was almost all the strength of the regular army of Heaven.

This time, Sun Wukong did not fight alone, but mobilized the seventy-two cave demon kings and two one-horned ghost kings to fight with the heavenly soldiers and generals.

As a result, the One-Horned Ghost King and the Seventy-Two Cave Demon Kings were still no match for the Nine Stars even when they joined forces.

So Sun Wukong took to the battlefield himself, and with his golden cudgel he beat the Nine Stars until they were exhausted and fled in defeat.

Afterwards, Guanyin Bodhisattva asked his disciple Hui'an Xingzhe, also known as Muzha, to go and inquire about the military situation. After Muzha met Li Jing, he happened to be challenged by Sun Wukong.

Mu Zha went to battle and fought with Sun Wukong for fifty or sixty rounds but was unable to resist. Li Jing saw that Mu Zha was also defeated and asked the Jade Emperor for help.

At the suggestion of Guanyin Bodhisattva, the Jade Emperor dispatched Erlang Shen, the Meishan brothers and 1,200 grass-headed gods to participate in the encirclement and suppression. The battle between Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen can be said to be the pinnacle showdown of the whole book. Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen fought for more than 300 rounds.

The two were evenly matched. Erlang Shen showed his power first and used the Law of Heaven and Earth. Sun Wukong retaliated and also used the Law of Heaven and Earth to fight back. The duel between the two people's transformation techniques was even more exciting.

In the end, he was captured alive after being beaten by the Meishan brothers, and after being bitten by the Sky-Roaring Dog and thrown by the Jade Diamond by the Jade Master. This defeat was the first time that Sun Wukong had ever been defeated in a fight.

After Sun Wukong was captured, neither swords nor hammers, thunder or fire could hurt him. So Taishang Laojun took Sun Wukong to the Bagua furnace, refined him with the Liu Ding divine fire, and escaped after 49 days, facing his peak battle.

He took out the golden cudgel and caused chaos in the Heavenly Palace again. He was evenly matched with his opponent, and he attacked enemies in all directions. He forced the Nine Stars to close their doors and windows, and the Four Heavenly Kings became invisible, and no god could stop them. His attack only reached the Tongming Palace and outside the Lingxiao Palace.

Afterwards, Wang Lingguan who was stationed in Tongming Palace stopped Sun Wukong. Yousheng Zhenjun dispatched thirty-six thunder generals, thirty-seven against one, and Sun Wukong used his three heads and six arms to fight.

The Jade Emperor ordered You Yi Ling Guan and Yi Sheng Zhen Jun to go to the West to ask Tathagata for rescue. Tathagata made a bet with Sun Wukong whether they could get out of the Five Elements Mountain. Sun Wukong was unable to fly out and was pressed under the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years.

Jiang Weimin plans to introduce the skills and equipment of the characters one by one, portray Sun Wukong as more brave and domineering, and finally use a new painting method to make the fight more powerful.

Finally, Jiang Weimin named this work "The Monkey King".
