Chapter 8 LSP's Great Joy
Chapter 8 LSP's Great Joy
Before dawn, the air at the southern outpost was filled with an unpleasant, earthy smell.
"Are you serious? This mixture in this proportion can actually be used to build a wall?"
Half of the roasted whole lamb was submerged in the icy stream. Holding a simple iron shovel, each shovel stroke brought up a heavy, sticky clump of black mud.
"Enough with the nonsense, the recipe the GM gave us has to work!"
The agent roared without turning his head. He was shirtless, and there were several bloody scratches on his chest from being rubbed by rough wood.
Czech public security agents unexpectedly discovered that the game's pain feedback could be self-adjusted, a pleasant surprise.
He adjusted the feedback value to about 20%, and his body still had some pain and pressure, but the rest was all adrenaline-pumping pleasure.
According to the mixing recipe provided by Lynn, they had to knead a powder made from the shell of a blue snail into the slime of the green slub in an extremely precise ratio.
Theoretically, if this thing is heated over a fire, it will turn into a colloid that is harder than cement.
However, there is a vast chasm between theory and practice called authenticity.
Meanwhile, at the outpost center, the sound of the millstone turning never stopped.
The light rain and the climbing snail were like two perpetual motion machines, tirelessly working away.
The blue snail's shell shattered between the stones, making a piercing sound.
"Something's not right, this vibration..." Xiaoyu stopped what he was doing and lightly touched the shimmering powder with his fingertips. He felt a subtle tremor inside these fragments, as if some kind of energy was contained beneath the calcium shell.
"Stop dawdling, the more detailed the GM's instructions, the better!" The climbing snail wiped his sweat. "We need to build the first impenetrable wall before the next wave of monsters spawns."
"Monsters don't respawn; once they're dead, they're dead. Have you forgotten?"
Xiaoyu remembered the game content that Lynn had introduced to them in the group before they made the reservation.
The four of them were working at full capacity: two were responsible for dredging and transporting the mud, and two were responsible for grinding and mixing the ingredients.
Under such intense collaboration, they even developed a camaraderie that they had never experienced in real life.
At 6 a.m., the first experimental wall was finally built.
It was a bizarre structure with a wooden skeleton and layers of black mud mixed with powder.
In the firelight, the glossy black mud surface even emitted an eerie, cold light; if I'm not mistaken, it must be fragments of snail shells.
"I never thought you could actually eat and build houses in this game."
Just as the whole roasted lamb wiped the mud off its face and was about to cheer, a sudden change occurred.
Perhaps due to excessive humidity, the sap collected from Green Water Spirit did not solidify as quickly as expected.
Conversely, under the influence of gravity, the base, which was a mixture of shell fragments and black mud, began to produce a strange fluid effect.
A chilling sound of breaking wood echoed at the edge of the silent forest, and the entire thick mud wall began to slowly tilt to the left.
"Holy crap! Back off!"
The collapse occurred.
There were no fancy special effects, only a visual impression of something like a collapsed mud pit.
The four people instinctively reached out to help and lift it up.
But in the face of gravity, all of that is in vain.
"boom!"
Mud splashed onto the legs of all four people.
In an attempt to avoid the falling lamb, the roasted whole lamb lost its footing and tumbled heavily into the muddy puddle beside it.
The beginner's initial cloth pants, already at their limit, finally let out a fatal "ripping" sound. A huge tear appeared from the back of the hip to the thigh.
"Physics no longer exists..." The whole roasted lamb slumped in the mud, staring blankly at his ankles submerged in black mud.
"It's not that physics doesn't exist, it's that our stress analysis has a problem."
Xiaoyu provided a preliminary summary of the failure.
The agent spat out the mud in his mouth angrily, but his eyes were somewhat unfocused.
Just then, a slight, rhythmic swaying sound came from the thin mist at the edge of the forest.
It looked like someone had come from the village.
"Crunch crunch"
That was the sound of a wooden wheelbarrow.
The distant horizon turned a pale grayish-white, and a plump figure slowly emerged from the light blue morning mist.
The first thing that catches the eye is that head of thick, wavy hair, like seaweed.
Her long hair was somewhat rough, the ends damp with morning moisture, clinging to her dark gray coarse linen smock.
"That's... a new NPC?" Xiaoyu held her breath.
"Holy crap, this modeling..." Agent LSP symptoms kicked in, and he almost instinctively squinted to examine the other party's gait.
She was a woman wearing a long, dark gray linen dress. Her steps were steady, and because of her wide hips, her center of gravity swayed subtly laterally as she walked.
"I am Sophia. The village chief sent me to take over your 'post-war work'."
Her smile was incredibly friendly: "Just consider it logistics."
Sofia parked the car a few meters away from the collapsed mud wall.
She didn't rush to speak, but instead bent down deeply to pull the fixed support at the bottom of the wooden cart.
The moment he bent over, the grass root the agent was biting almost fell to the ground.
The linen blouse created a perfect curve at the junction of her back and hips as she bent over.
The rough fabric was stretched to its limit by the inner contours, and under the morning light, it seemed as if it was about to burst out.
"This is definitely been modified..." The agent really wished the game could be recorded so he could save it and watch it repeatedly.
"This curve... Planner, you really understand us."
Sofia straightened up, raised her plump arm, and gently wiped the fine sweat from her temples with her sleeve.
She smiled faintly at the group of disheveled young players, her voice carrying the unique magnetism of a mature woman:
"Lord Lynn, it seems these children have had a very difficult night."
Lynn emerged from the shadows, glanced at the drafty crotch of the roasted whole lamb's pants, and frowned in disgust: "Sophia, help this kid mend it first. It's not very aesthetically pleasing for him to be wandering around my outpost like this."
Sofia smiled and sat down on the small stool she had brought with her, taking some needles and thread from the basket.
"Come here." She beckoned to the whole roasted lamb.
He moved the whole roasted lamb over, then awkwardly turned his back to her.
Sofia leaned down, and because they were so close, her long, wavy hair, which smelled of ripe fruit, almost reached the waist of the whole roasted lamb.
"Don't move!"
Sofia chuckled softly, her fingertips tracing the edge of the crack, the coolness of the metal mingling with the warmth of her breath.
"If the needle goes astray, you might lose more than just a pair of pants."
The agent squatted down beside her, his eyes fixed on Sofia's movements as she pulled the needle and thread.
Each time Sophia pulled on the silk thread, her body would sway slightly, and the blouse rose and fell in the morning light, much like a silent provocation.
"Actually," she said casually as she sewed, "you failed just now not because the mortar wasn't thick enough."
Xiaoyu was stunned: "Why is that?"
Sophia looked up and said, "That snail shell powder... it's said that they need a certain frequency of vibration. Without this vibration, they're just broken shells, never able to come together. Just like people, it's useless for their bodies to be together; their heartbeats have to match too."
"Vibration frequency?" Xiaoyu seemed to have grasped something and suddenly looked at the stone mill.
The agent looked at Xiaoyu and mentally gave her a thumbs up.
Having said all that, why are you still concerned about the snail shell? Can a hot-blooded college student withstand even this kind of test?
"That's right," Sophia said deftly, putting away her needle and thread, and lightly tapping the patch on the roasted whole lamb with her finger. The soft snap startled the lamb, almost making it jump.
"Okay, the pants are mended. I'll come see you guys again later."
Sophia pushed the wheelbarrow, turned around, and gave him a meaningful smile. "Lord Lynn, I'll go prepare breakfast now. By the way, if you really want to build that wall, perhaps you'll need to find someone more professional."
As Sofia's swaying figure disappeared into the distance at the edge of the forest, the agent and the whole roasted lamb remained frozen in place.
"Brothers!" the agent wiped his face. "Isn't this a definite hidden perk?"
"GM, does this game have a system for deep interaction?"
Lynn ignored him and coldly swept his gaze over the four exhausted players: "Did you hear that? The pants are patched up. Stop staring at that little bit of model bonus."
Now that we understand there's a problem with the structure, let's find a way to fix it.
The four players looked at each other in bewilderment. The experience of the night, from the collapse of the initial construction to Sofia's thrilling entrance, made them realize that the game was far more complex than they had imagined.
"This game..." the agent muttered to himself, glancing at the trousers of the roasted whole lamb. "Even if it means a lifetime of hard labor, I'd accept it."
The climbing snail laughed, "You're hopeless."
Lynn's mind was entirely focused on the structural problem; relying on these four people wouldn't solve it.
Although the materials in this world are different from those on Earth, the principles should still be the same.
A few hours ago, Lynn used 500 energy points to unlock a new game slot and found that the system had given him a total of 10 this time.
Aside from the one for Xiaoyu, it seems we'll need to recruit some technical talent next.
