"A bear? And this big?" Han Yi sized up the beast. Its thick, blackish-brown fur was as stiff as steel needles, gleaming with a dark luster in the sunlight. Its small eyes flashed with a fierce light, and it was currently opening its blood-red maw, revealing a mouthful of fangs, to intimidate another crane.
It let out a deep, intimidating roar, carrying a powerful force that made the surrounding air tremble. Startled birds scattered in all directions, leaves fell to the ground intermittently, and a tense atmosphere permeated the air.
Han Yi's heart tightened suddenly, and a strong sense of crisis surged into his heart: "Today is probably a day of conflict of the five elements, one wave after another."
The crane that hadn't fallen into the trap stood in front of its mate and Han Yi without hesitation.
"Silly bird, let's go!" Han Yi shouted at the crane!
That guy didn't listen! He just glanced back at his partner briefly before turning away again, as if he had made up his mind.
As a bird of prey, it was at a natural disadvantage, yet it actually wanted to confront that bear head-on?
I really don't know who gave it the courage.
As expected, the silly bird was ravaged by the giant bear right before his eyes, and in just one round, it was covered in feathers.
The two sides were vastly different in strength, and that silly bird might become the giant bear's meal in the next round.
"Idiot, you insisted on going to your death, you deserve it! I can't beat this thing, I'm not playing with you anymore!" Of the thirty-six stratagems, running away is the best. The wisest thing to do now is to abandon these two stupid birds and leave this place. Han Yi was just about to do that.
He leaped down from the branch. "It's that old man's pet, not mine. He won't even show up to rescue me, so why should I worry about it?" With that thought, he felt at peace as he walked away, listening to the mournful cries behind him.
For a moment, he couldn't bear to go too far. He didn't consider himself a good person, but he wasn't a bad one either. What had changed him? What had made him so self-serving? Less enthusiasm and kindness? It must be this cannibalistic world!
"Fine, I'll just risk my life this once! It'll give me some peace of mind!" In the end, the good in his heart prevailed over fear. Han Yi slowly turned around, gripped the stone blade, and leaped into the air, standing in front of the crane a few steps later.
"Plucking chicken, get out of the way, don't get in my way!" Han Yi glanced at the somewhat pitiful crane, then stood facing the giant bear, sizing each other up.
The giant bear roared as it charged at him, the earth trembling slightly beneath its hooves. The roar, like thunder, now so close it made his ears ring. Han Yi swiftly dodged to the side, avoiding the bear's direct attack. His body moved like a nimble swallow, leaping through the air in an arc.
The giant bear, having missed its first attack, grew even more enraged and turned to pounce again! Han Yi nimbly leaped between tree branches and the ground, dodging the attacks while searching for an opportunity to counterattack. Having endured six months of inhuman torture, his physical abilities were now remarkably strong.
With a loud shout, he seized the moment the giant bear turned around and hurled the stone blade at it. The blade spun rapidly through the air, carrying nearly a thousand pounds of force, heading straight for the bear's body. It struck the bear like a tickle, unable to penetrate its tough hide. It caused no fatal damage, only some pain, which only further enraged the bear.
It wildly swung its enormous paws, creating gusts of wind. The paws were like giant fans, each swing generating a powerful gust of air. Han Yi dodged left and right, narrowly escaping death. Several times, the bear's paws almost grazed his body, sending chills down his spine. Although his physical strength was many times greater than when he climbed the mountain, it was still difficult to withstand even a single blow from that beast.
Facing an opponent whose every move was deadly, Han Yi did not back down. He continued to use his speed advantage to relentlessly attack the giant bear's massive body. His eyes gleamed with excitement; he was captivated by the thrill of this life-or-death struggle.
"That's so exciting!" Han Yi kept adjusting his position, searching for the best angle to dodge. With each dodge, he could feel his heart racing and his blood boiling.
Suddenly, the giant bear leaped high into the air, its massive body crashing down on him like a mountain. Caught off guard by the bear's abrupt change in attack, Han Yi instinctively rolled to the side at the last second, narrowly avoiding a fatal blow. His lack of combat experience was still a factor; had he not reacted quickly enough, that attack would have nearly killed him.
The giant bear slammed its paws heavily onto the ground with a deafening roar, creating a large crater. Han Yi was shaken so badly that his blood surged, and he almost couldn't breathe. The beast didn't give him a chance to catch his breath and pounced again.
Han Yi hurriedly rolled over, narrowly avoiding the attack! His body swayed like a leaf in the wind, precariously about to fall under the giant bear's relentless assault. While dodging, he stepped on a branch, lost his footing, and plummeted to his chest. The giant bear seized the opportunity, its paw striking him squarely in the chest!
Shi Ren blocked the attack! With a loud "bang," Han Yi was sent flying by the immense force, crashing heavily to the ground. The force nearly shattered his bones. A tingling, numb sensation, accompanied by excruciating pain, spread throughout his body, almost unbearable.
Lying on the ground, the pain rendered Han Yi unable to move. The giant bear's paw had shattered his initial confidence. Despair welled up within him; he was powerless against external forces and considered giving up the struggle. His opponent had shown him what it meant to overcome all skill with sheer force; he simply couldn't defeat this beast on his own.
"If only I had studied harder during my training, I would have really messed up this time." A trickle of blood spilled from the corner of his mouth as Han Yi thought to himself. Facing the beast that was closing in on him, he had no hope of winning and had lost the courage to fight again.
At that moment, the crane, its feathers scattered on the ground, steadfastly blocked the giant bear's path. It seemed to want to hold off Han Yi for a while, giving the latter a chance to get up.
"Bald chicken, good job! Hold on for a while, it hurts so much, let me lie down for a bit!" At this moment, Han Yi was like a dead dog, lying on the ground in a sorry state, the pain in his body making it difficult for him to get up.
