After transmigrating, she became the most beloved beast in the world.

Chapter 16 Practice

Chapter 16 Practice

The carriage was dimly lit at night. Chu Xinyao lay on the makeshift bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. Her gaze drifted through the window, fixed on the twinkling stars outside.

Perhaps it was because of Mo's travel stories that she felt a deep longing. Mo's stories were like a series of captivating movies, constantly replaying in her mind.

[Alright, stop thinking about it. Go to sleep early. We need to find a chance to sneak out for practice tomorrow morning.]

Chu Xinyao stuck out her tongue and smiled mischievously. Although she was still filled with longing for this world, she knew that she did not have the ability to travel around now.

[Okay, Sister Ting, I understand.]

She answered silently, then closed her eyes, trying to calm her breathing and hoping to fall asleep quickly.

In her carriage, Xiao Hua lay not far from her, her breathing already even, while Chu Xinyao lay on her side.

Gradually, her consciousness began to blur. In a state between dreaming and waking, she seemed to see herself standing on a vast grassland, with a dazzling starry sky above her. The wind on the grassland gently brushed her cheek, bringing with it the fresh scent of grass.

Before long, she seemed to have returned to the desert region, and could even smell the dry, hot desert wind. She saw herself wearing a dark robe and a sun hat, walking among endless sand dunes.

The scenes in her dream kept changing, as if she were following the story told by Mo, embarking on a journey that would last for several years. In her dream, she/he was brave and fearless, climbing steep peaks, traversing deep caves, and exploring the mysterious underwater world. They encountered all sorts of people, some becoming friends, others rivals.

Finally, as the first rays of dawn shone through the train window into the carriage, Chu Xinyao slowly awoke from her dream. She opened her eyes and found herself still lying on the makeshift bed in the carriage, with Xiao Hua lying not far from her, breathing evenly and calmly.

Chu Xinyao got up, picked up a piece of animal skin and draped it over Xiaohua's belly, moving lightly so as not to disturb Xiaohua's sleep.

Outside the carriage, a range of rolling mountains stretched out, bathed in the golden light of the sunrise. In the distance, the peaks appeared and disappeared in the clouds, creating a scene resembling a fairyland.

Chu Xinyao took a deep breath, and the fresh air invigorated her spirit, which had been troubled by dreams all night.

[Let's go, Sister Ting, what are you going to teach me today?]

As she left, in the car behind, Mo's ears twitched slightly, as if he had caught her departure. An Hong suddenly opened his eyes, showing no signs of sleepiness.

Mo stepped out of the carriage, his gaze following Chu Xinyao's retreating figure.

"Sir?" Ah Da stepped out from the shadows of the carriage.

Mo extended his hand and said coldly, "Just follow from a distance. Our guests have many secrets they don't want us to know." His voice was deep and carried an unquestionable authority.

Ah Da nodded slightly, his figure quickly disappearing into the shadows of the carriage, as if blending into the surrounding environment.

Chu Xinyao didn't notice the movement behind her, but she still had Long Tingting with her. [Don't speak, someone's following you.]

[Who is following me?] Chu Xinyao did not turn around, but walked straight into a grove of trees without looking to the side.

[I don't know, maybe it's some kind of orc's special ability!] Long Tingting said with interest, but these things wouldn't affect today's training.

Chu Xinyao suddenly had a whim and wanted to try to shake off the person behind her.

She reached out and grabbed a vine, pulled hard, and her body swung up, landing lightly on a branch of a large tree like a bird.

Her movements were almost silent, accompanied only by the morning breeze and the rustling of leaves. Chu Xinyao stood atop a treetop, a defiant smile playing on her lips. She was agile and nimble, moving with the grace of a forest sprite.

Ah Da's figure was behind a tree not far away, his eyes showing surprise. He hadn't expected the delicate female to have such skills, but he quickly adjusted his state and followed silently.

Chu Xinyao paused briefly on a tree before continuing onward, her figure weaving through the woods, sometimes climbing, sometimes leaping, sometimes running. The Agility Fruit was truly a wonderful thing, allowing her to traverse the forest as if it were flat ground; even rugged terrain could not hinder her progress.

Ah Da inwardly groaned. Just as he was about to fall behind, the female suddenly turned around, smiled at him, and then her speed increased dramatically, like a gentle breeze sweeping through the forest, leaving only an elusive afterimage.

Soon, Ah Da lost track of Chu Xinyao. Just as he was wondering how to go back and explain himself, a voice rang out from above, "Your name is Ah Da, right?"

"Yes." Ah Da immediately stood up straight.

Chu Xinyao lightly jumped down from the tree and landed next to A-Da, saying playfully, "A-Da, you don't need to be so nervous." Looking at his expression, she couldn't help but laugh again.

“I’ll stay around here, I won’t go far, you don’t need to follow me.”

Ah Da shook his head, his tone flat: "No, I have to protect your safety."

"Alright, catch up if you can!" She had already adapted to the lightness of her body brought by the Agility Fruit, and her speed was even faster than before. With a few leaps, her figure disappeared into the depths of the forest.

[Sister Ting, how's it going? Did you shake him off?]

Long Tingting carefully examined her surroundings and confirmed that she had indeed shaken off A-Da.

"Phew, Sister Ting, don't you think I'm like an ancient swordsman now, with superb lightness skills, appearing and disappearing without a trace?" Chu Xinyao smiled smugly, feeling very pleased with herself.

Long Tingting pretended to be serious and said, "Don't be too smug. This is just the effect of the Agility Fruit. You still have a lot to learn. Since we've already wasted a lot of time today, how about I teach you how to use your surroundings to hide yourself?"

Chu Xinyao perked up; this was extremely useful for her at this stage.

Following Long Tingting's instructions, she arrived at an open area with many rocks and bushes, a good place to practice concealing her movements.

Long Tingting began to explain how to hide oneself in different terrains, how to use light and shadow, and how to reduce one's voice and breath.

Chu Xinyao listened attentively and practiced from time to time. Although these were not skills she could master in a short period of time, she persisted in practicing every day and eventually learned them.

Long Tingting was somewhat relieved; Chu Xinyao's study attitude was much better than before. In her opinion, being a little slow or learning a little slower wasn't a problem. As long as Chu Xinyao had perseverance and was willing to work hard, she would eventually master these skills.

“Xinyao, although these skills can’t be mastered overnight, you’ve already taken an important step,” Long Tingting encouraged.

Chu Xinyao wiped the sweat from her forehead and smiled, saying, "Sister Ting, I know this isn't easy, but I don't want to disappoint you. I want to become a true master, just like you."

Although she was just a weakling in the base, it didn't stop her from idolizing a strong person like Long Tingting.

A hint of approval flashed in Long Tingting's eyes: "Your determination alone puts you ahead of many others. Remember, the way of martial arts lies in refinement, not quantity; in diligence, not speed. A little progress every day will accumulate into a great achievement."

Chu Xinyao nodded; she knew that what Sister Ting said was true. She decided to work hard every day, just like today, constantly honing her skills until she could fully master everything Sister Ting had taught her.

Arriving at the place where she had bathed yesterday, Chu Xinyao was about to take a bath when Xiao Hua brought over a large round basin.

“Sister Xinyao, Master really guessed right. He said you would come here to wash up and asked me to wait for you here. I thought he was just saying it casually, but I didn’t expect him to actually guess it.”

Chu Xinyao looked at her with delight and took out a light yellow dress that was similar in style to the one she was wearing.

"Sister Xinyao, here you go." Xiaohua handed over a bamboo cup and a twig.

As Chu Xinyao was wondering, Xiao Hua broke off the branch in the middle, revealing a cut surface that looked very similar to a toothbrush.

These are a toothbrush and a mouthwash cup, but I'm not sure if they have toothpaste?

Chu Xinyao took the branch and smelled a minty scent as she brought it close. Seeing that Xiaohua was already brushing her teeth, she started brushing her teeth as well. It was indeed minty, but there wasn't much foam.
