There is pain before Chapter 2.
There is pain before Chapter 2.
With all his might, he threw a stone, this time hitting the other person squarely on the head, causing them to tilt their head slightly, but that was all.
But by this time, the other party had already stood up, opened his almost toothless mouth to its maximum, howled wildly, stretched out one hand towards Li Wei, and raised the broken sword high in the other hand, and staggered towards Li Wei.
It's like someone who's been starving for two years going crazy when they see some delicious food.
Li Wei, a migrant worker soldier, had never seen such a scene before. Although he was mentally prepared, his legs were still so scared that they almost went weak.
Sigh, is it possible to reconcile?
Li Wei's muscles were tense, and he cried out in his heart, "Quick, damn leg, move!"
He slammed his thigh hard and then sprinted away.
As he passed the broken-sword zombie, he took a close look at its face and then ran even faster.
"Ugh~"
"Eee ...
While running frantically, the graveyard keeper, patrolling or sitting in a daze, naturally discovered Li Wei, this uninvited guest.
One by one, they got up, grabbed their knives, and joined the pursuit.
Li Wei didn't even have the heart to look back. He stared intently at the road ahead. If he accidentally tripped and fell, or bumped into a tombstone, or even worse, crashed into a zombie, he would be finished.
Although Li Wei wasn't sure what he was now, even if he could be resurrected, he didn't want to experience being hacked to death.
After struggling to get out of the seepage area, Li Wei turned a corner and saw a poor knight lying on his back with his head embedded in a large stone basin. Li Wei couldn't tell what it was or what had made him like that.
In the game, this guy is basically passive, providing one mana potion to distribute.
But Li Wei didn't have the time to check his equipment right now. Although he really wanted to, he simply didn't have the time. He only spent two seconds bending down to pick up the straight sword in Li Wei's hand, which was already slightly bent in the middle and front, as if it had been bent by some superhuman force. (It really is a bit bent; you can check it out on the account if you don't believe me. I can't upload a picture since I'm not signed.)
He glanced warily at the graveyard guards who were still relentlessly pursuing him, then smirked and continued running.
With a whoosh, a crossbow bolt whizzed past him, making Li Wei's hair stand on end.
Directly ahead, beneath the broken stone archway, a zombie with a crossbow stared intently at Li Wei, cocking the bowstring.
You son of a bitch! If you're going to die, just die peacefully! What are you doing blocking the door?
He cursed under his breath, steeled his resolve, and taking advantage of the moment when the opponent was drawing the sword, he gripped the hilt with both hands, ran over, and forcefully chopped down on the opponent's neck.
With a snap, the sword got stuck in the other person's neck. The other person's head slumped and body went limp, and dark red blood spurted out, soaking Li Wei. He was stunned.
But the shouts behind him jolted Li Wei back to his senses.
Ignoring his nausea and fear, he pulled the sword from the other person's neck and charged out again.
After passing through the archway and running through the alleyways flanking the mountain peaks, the view suddenly opened up.
The road has also been transformed into a narrow path, barely a meter wide, carved into the cliff face.
Even if Li Wei dared not look down, he could still see the mountains below the cliff in the corner of his eye.
Those mountains, which look no bigger than steamed buns, are white, mostly covered in naturally occurring snow from the high mountains.
This made Li Wei secretly gasp in amazement. Just how high was this fire-lighting sacrificial site?
Not far ahead, on the mountaintop, stands a bell tower, the origin of the ashes and the site of the fire-lighting ritual.
He glanced back at the zombie guards who were still chasing him even though they were more than thirty meters away, ignored the magnificent view of the royal city built on a cliff, and continued running with trembling legs.
They ran until they reached the middle of the cliff and found a campfire before stopping.
The campfire was no ordinary campfire; inside was a small pile of bones, human skulls snow-white, and beneath the bones piled up white ash, with a spiral sword stuck diagonally between the unlit embers.
Li Wei imitated Ash, placing one hand on the end of the spiral sword's hilt, and with a boom, he struck.
A faint flame ignited on the bone, and Li Wei seemed to hear a solemn declaration.
The ashes are rekindled.
He felt a burning sensation in his palm, but Li Wei had no time to worry about such trivial matters. Who knew what it would feel like to light a campfire with real ashes?
Time was of the essence. Li Wei felt that if he didn't try sitting on fire to reset everything, he would be hacked into dozens of pieces by these zombie sword saints using their mad dog sword technique.
Unfortunately, even though Li Wei was sitting on the ground almost curled up, he still couldn't see the white mist in the game. Instead, the graveyard watchers caught up with him.
"You guys just keep chasing me?" Li Wei, looking miserable, tried to get up and continue running. Since he was sitting on the ground, he instinctively reached for his sword hilt to stand up, but unexpectedly, the spiral sword was ripped off, and the campfire went out.
While Li Wei was still in a daze, those ugly faces came into view. He cursed under his breath, threw away the spiral sword that was too heavy for him, and continued running inside.
But when he reached the end of the path, the guardian zombie who had been standing there roared upon seeing Li Wei, and then two zombies carrying complete longswords emerged from the obstruction of his view.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Li Wei steeled his resolve, grabbed his longsword, and charged forward, only to meet a tragic end.
After all, the zombies don't have much fear. They're all pushing and shoving to slash at Li Wei, who doesn't know proper swordsmanship or positioning.
He slashed hard at the opponent's shoulder, but the sword got stuck in the bone. Before he could pull the sword out, the zombie stabbed him through the stomach with a backhand strike.
Before Li Wei could even scream, two more swords stabbed his throat, blood gushing up and silencing any words he wanted to say to his female relatives.
The intense pain made him instinctively clutch his stomach, and several broken swords pierced his back.
This was also Li Wei's first death.
When Johnny woke up again, the revolving lantern of his life hadn't finished flashing before his eyes, and everything started all over again: the familiar coffin, the living corpse.
He got up, glanced at the curved straight sword in his hand, and realized that even though it had been resurrected along with him, it hadn't turned into an ugly ghost face; it was just ashes.
Then what the hell is there to hesitate about? Two words: Go for it.
He grabbed his sword and started picking fights with the graveyard watchman.
The two sides were evenly matched, and the entire cemetery bore traces of Li Wei's fall.
He was hacked to death, bled to death, was bitten by a dog, and touched his own neck after his limbs were severed.
Li Wei can handle one-on-one, he might lose in one-on-two, and in one-on-three, you'd better get ready.
There were three people blocking the way in front of the campfire. Li Wei was the only one who hadn't been enhanced. His body, which was considered sub-healthy by modern standards due to his frequent late nights, was no match for him.
In the end, Li Wei's passion was dealt a heavy blow by the cold reality, and he peacefully lay back in his coffin, leaving a message outside.
Let's turn back.
"There is pain ahead."
"You are no match for me."
